S4. Addictive Online Shopping

All of a sudden, online shopping has become very popular nowadays.  I can say people whom I talked to have experienced buying some items online.  My colleague has just bought badminton racket online and he just showed me a few minutes ago.  Another colleague have bought even a washing machine.
I only started buying online recently through an online shopping mall called LAZADA.COM. A little introduction from their homepage.

The first purchase.

My first contact with this homepage was when I wanted to buy an LCD TV bracket.  Looking at the discounted price of -51%, I was then stunned and immediately ordered the bracket.
Here are the steps on how to purchase items from LAZADA.

Step 1.
Go to lazada homepage.
Step 2.
Write in the SEARCH box, the item that you are looking for.
Step 3.
Move cursor to the item to buy.
Step 4.
 Select BUY NOW.

Step 5.
If you have not sign in, you might as well register so that it would be easier the next time you buy more things.  Believe me, once you successfully buy an item, you will come back for more.
Step 6.
Finally, choose the payment methods.

It is written that the delivery of the item is within 1 to 3 business days.  Normally LAZADA is quite punctual, so you can expect the courier service personal will be knocking your door in three days time.  It happened to me too, but I was not home at that time.  So it's better to give the delivery address where you would usually be during the working days.

The bracket fitted to where it should be.
For the next purchase, I have changed the delivery address to my office address.

 SAMSUNG camera

Now that I have managed to purchase that bracket, I had a look at a Samsung camera as a gift.  I took a glimpse of the camera on offer and found this.
58% discount is really unbelievable.

So I did the similar step.  One thing though, this camera is imported from Hong Kong, so the delivery time is put at 6 to 10 business days.  We will see whether they can stick with the time frame that they put.
Once item have been paid for, you can track the whereabout of the item by using the ORDER TRACKING function.

Of course waiting for 10 days for any online purchase is extremely nerve-racking.  Even though I have had the experience buying product from this site, worry is still worry.  And finally, on the day 7, the receptionist in my office rang me and informed of the parcel.

To tell you the truth, I thought the camera size is a little larger, but actually it is quite small, even smaller than the Samsung galaxy series.  That is the drawback of buying something that you cannot see or touch.  But maybe you can check the dimension in the product specification next time.

As the product is successfully delivered, a thank you note end the ORDER TRACKING sequence.  But it never mention about the successful delivery though.
First picture taken using the camera.

Second test picture.
One of my favourite function is PANORAMA, where you can move the camera sideways while pressing the shutter and the result will be a horizontally elongated picture even can be up to 360 degrees.  See the sample below.

The ever-willing models.

If you are anxious to see the effect of using this new camera, do check our next entry.  But first of all, I have to get permission from the owner of this camera, errr......that is my wife.

S3. Completing the IKEA puzzles

This is the continuation from the previously highlighted IKEA furniture hunting.  Since we have learn to check the IKEA products availability online, we just made sure that the bar table that we want to buy is in store.
The mejo kuden is available.
If you look under the item 'In stock?', you can see that yellow bar which indicate the availability of the said table.  The price remains the same.

Now that you are already at the homepage, you can also check the rack and section number.
Having done the homework, now you can grab your car keys, run towards the door, into your vehicle, and drive to IKEA Mutiara Damansara. That's exactly what we did.  This table seems to be hot items, who knows it might be out of stock in no time.
Having found the bar table, we were surprised to see that the matching chair called FRANKLIN is nowhere near.  I forgot to check the rack number earlier, but sometime they rearrange the rack and section.  So I went to the next row in that warehouse but........
Empty box.....damn.

But than we looked at the price, isn't this the younger sibling of FRANKLIN?  True enough, the empty box is for the lower chair, so we looked elsewhere and..
The right FRANKLIN.
So we managed to find both the table and the chairs.  Time to zoom back home and arrange those furniture.  A daunting task to fit to the hanging wall table I bought earlier but finally, its done.

Just in case you don't like to climb those bar chairs.

I think we are happy enough now, but the next project is coming up. Just keep checking.

F1. Foods around Lumut and Pangkor

Isn't that delicious.
We have decided to come up with a new category in the entry to this blog simply because of our love of foods.  We put the initial F, obviously stands for FOOD. As for the first entry in this category?
Here is the list of the eating out places that we manage to find during our Pangkor trip.

1. Teluk Intan's Mee Udang

The mee udang or prawn noodle has been reviewed in the previous entry. The location is at the food stall near the Teluk Intan's leaning tower. It probably doesn't look extremely beautiful on the outside, but don't judge the book by it's cover.  The soup, or the curry has been added with just enough ingredients with the right amount of prawns and noodles.

No wonder one bowl of this noodles can be consumed in only 2 minutes.  At least that is what my neighbour did.

Serious!!...Only two minutes.
We also ordered the unusual Bangkok fried rice.  Unusual in the sense that it actually resembles very much like USA fried rice plus nasi goreng ayam goreng kunyit.  If by mixing few fried rices can become a new dish, then I might as well mix few other delicacies and call it nasi goreng Kuantan.  As a food reviewer, even when I was busy with my mee udang, I was also aware of the present of Bangkok fried rice.  But when I turn to have a slight taste, it was all gone.  I didn't know that they are so talented in doing this missing-foods trick.
Judging from the speed of the foods gone, I would say Bangkok fried rice also can be considered delicious, slightly below the mee udang though.

2. Seafood feast at Sri Manjung

There is a good story on finding this food stall.  We were targeting another restaurant based on the google search recommendation.  We ended up circling the entire Sri Manjung and realising later the targeted restaurant has been closed, we decided to just have our seafood venture at the place we started from.  The location is close to Shell station heading to Lumut port. The name of the restaurant?

Hazmah Arshad Seafood
Again, don't judge the book by its cover.  We found that the foods here are superb, the tom yam is one of the best taste ever and I think the masterpiece is the fish cooked in tiga rasa (three tastes) served with enough spices.

The delicious-looking dishes.
I wonder if I might judge this wrongly, but looking at how fast the foods disappeared, don't think there is any objection.
Wait a minute, where is the fish?  Adzim seem to be in a hurry....why?

3. Teluk Nipah one-of-a-kind Open Table

Rarely that we use the term open table, but it represents a scenario when we sit around a table and order whatever food that your taste buds are feeling like eating.  Not exactly what happened then, but it was rather close.  The main reason is because the environment are such that you are surrounded by fresh seafood and plenty of choices for that matter.  Afterall, the location is at the Teluk Nipah beach, Pangkor Island.

Not so busy, still early.

oooo seafood.............

"Just give us all those please".

You can tell from the mosaic pictures that our choice and quantity of foods seem to double from the previous.  Obviously because they are just too hungry after those extreme sports they indulged in earlier.
Waiting is killing, but the expression completely changed when the foods delivered one dish at a time.  The judgment is again whether or not Adzim is satisfied.  Looking at him, I am sure he did feel happy and full.  That is even strengthen with the fact that he was the first to go back to the resort for a private business, I heard.

Judgement time, out of the three food excursions, we judge the winner is Teluk Nipah.  Definitely.

T33. Happy Ferry

Taking a ferry ride from Lumut to Pangkor Island is always pleasant especially if there is less crowd.  We arrived at Lumut jetty at about 11:00 am on Saturday and I was expecting a big crowd but as it turned out, it was just pleasant and even the ferry is only about half-filled.
We did not plan to choose any ferry, but were lucky enough to get the one with open deck, so that for both trips to and fro, we spent most of our time on the deck, sun bathing, photo taking, and sight-seeing.

The ferry return ticket is only RM10, bought at the Lumut jetty only.  No need to buy ticket when you return.
Lumut jetty

Not so many visitors ha

Don't even think we would be just sitting in the ferry knowing that there is an open deck above.  Who started to go up the deck?  Was it Muiz? So I climb up the stairs to the deck.

And...wuallaaa......they are already up here. You won't see Kak Long up here because.......

There are just too many pictures we took we have no choice but to mosaic all together.

Video is also available here for a better overview on what happened throughout the trip.  You can also learn how to berth a ferry.

TUTORIAL 1:  Berthing a ferry

After having learn how to park the ferry, we decided to climb ashore and do some sight-seeing.

 Monopod and me.

On the way back, we also managed to do some review on how to berth the same ferry.  But since Kak Long is crazy with her monopod, we have some photos here taken using that monopod.  After that only we will check the video of the ferry journey back from Pangkor to Lumut.
