t61 kansai airport to hommachi by train

landed!!!!

a tiring six hour flight took us from klia2 to osaka's kansai international airport.  this is the first time for me to touch down at the kansai airport.  the airport is located off shore on a man made island and has been in operation since 1994.

my attention is of course towards our two brothers, but they are really cool.  in fact the elder is a keen and enthusiastic front man who can ask any question to any strangers about any issue.  i rightly put him in the spot as the tour guide......

the one-card for transportation
the briefing was about what IC (identification) card to buy and how much to top up.  there are many such cards but we opted for JR's ICOCA which is originally for use in the kansai region but now can be used in tokyo as well.  one such card can be purchased at the price of 2000 yen with a pre-paid value of 1500 yen. it means the card cost is 500 yen.  since we will be departing back from tokyo, we have no mean to sell back the card and retain the 500 yen back, so we keep it as a souvenir, just in case my other brothers are heading to japan in the future.
moving from terminal 1 to the train station is a brisk.  the stations for JR and Nankai lines are only 100 meter eastward from the terminal 1 and both stations are located side-by-side.

since JR train does not go to Hommachi, where our hotel is, we disembarked at Shin Immamiya station and took Sakaisuji line towards Hommachi. Since it is a long distance from the airport to the city centre, it took about 1 hour 20 minutes.

that was very much our first two hours in Japan.
