while in osaka, visit osaka castle!
it is highly recommended to visit osaka castle, one of the many castles in japan that is well preserved and hugely popular. this is how one can connect to the japan samurai history.
the area where the castle located is called chuo ward, accessible with keihan, tanimachi, chuo, or JR osaka loop lines besides numerous bus route around the osakajo park.
we opted for the chuo line due to it's connecting station nearer to the hotel we stay in, that is, hommachi.
looking for the castle entrance should not be problematic, just follow the drove of people but make sure not the one going back. we did the opposite and we ended up scouting half of the big park in that rather warm morning. at least we could find few sakura tree here and there.
some thought this is the castle....oooo come on |
as hot as malaysia? not quite |

it is quite a distance from any entrance and any subway station but there is no regret seeing the castle majestically standing in front of you.
here is a series of pictures while entering the castle ground. the entrance ticket can be bought right before starting the climb on the foot of the castle. it cost you 600 yen per pax.

amazing
even though it was a monday, there seemed to be many local touring the castle but the majority still were foreign tourists. the highlight is of course VIEW from ABOVE.
VIEW from ABOVE
it is indeed a lively place but be sure to read the historical description on the exhibits and know japan history better.
