F2. PUTRAJAYA eating out

The second entry in the food venture series, we will now talk about food at Alamanda Shopping mall.  Alamanda is located in Putrajaya, Federal Territory of Malaysia.  This is a modern administrative city where you will find many highrise building that are actually the offices for all the ministries in the Malaysian cabinet.
View of the Masjid Sultan Zainal Abidin, better known as masjid besi (steel).

We tried few eating places surrounding the Alamanda shopping mall.  This mall is not necessarily the biggest in Malaysia, but it is always crowded with shoppers especially during weekend.

1.  Steamboat @ Johnnys

This mouth-watering steamboat is located at the ground floor, at the food court.  The name of the restaurant is Johnnys.  We used to order the steamboat for one person but now the simplest is the serving for two.  Another issue is that, if you want to change the curry to tom yam, you have to pay extra RM15.  That is the different from say one year ago.

Rice is additional order

Besides the steamboat, you can also order other normal foods such as fried rice, noodles, etc.

2.  Waffle + Banana + Ice cream

I don't even know how to call this combination, but as there are many people buying this waffle, I decided to have a go.  The kiosk is located in the food court itself.

Who can finish this?

Let's discuss who can finish that waffle.

That's your mission........

3.  the DOME

There are many DOME restaurants in Malaysia and I can remember seeing it in all big shopping malls.
DOME is originated from Perth, hence you will see different ambient and setting that reflect where it comes from.  Unfortunately, having many outlets in Malaysia, we feel the one located at Alamanda is a bit lacking in services.

We decided to go for the beef steak, unfortunately it took us ages to place the order.  This is where we think the improvement should take place.
Potato for appetizer.

The steak with wild mushroom soup.
Once again, judgement time.  But wait a minute, can we compare apple with orange?  Looking into all aspects of restaurant food, environment, setting, service, all in, I think I would still choose the DOME, with one condition though, upgrade the service.
Cheerio........
