Hotel Ming Star at Kuala Terengganu was not our first choice. But due to the Merdeka eve and the long weekend that follow, we settled with this hotel.
Ming star hotel belongs to a Ming Group company that run Ming Star, Ming Paragon, and Travellers Inn Hotel.
Combine two single to get a double bed. New concept? |
We took the best room available and that happened to be the double DELUXE room with the rate of RM178.
Not so much of a bar here. |
All the necessity of a deluxe room is there, including minibar. We couldn't complain much but we don't agree with the high-speed wi-fi. There was nothing high speed about it and we ended up using our own broadband.
All in all the furniture seem a little run down, but again do we have any choice?
As I opened the window, a Malaysia flag greeting the merdeka was already there. Could be a nice backdrop for taking picture, I guess.
The washroom facility is basic but acceptable.
What about parking? As you can see this hotel is in a row of shoplot, so I imagined the parking would be a problem, but luckily they have provided the parking lot at the back of the hotel. The parking lot is full of gravel, hopefully will be resurfaced soon enough.
Parking lot with the hotel at the background. |
Breakfast is provided. As for the quality and food choices? Just ok I guess, as usual, nasi lemak, sausage, porridge, bread, eggs but no nasi dagang, nasi kerabu, or budu, which should be the trademarks for east coast breakfast.
Hmmm....time to judge this hotel. All things considered, location, price, cleanliness, facilities, staff, foods, and service, we conclude the travnbook rating for this hotel is
**
Happy MERDEKA!
