F4. curviNG into THAI and JAPAN

the curve

We are back to the curve, a well-known shopping area at Mutiara Damansara.  We zoom into two restaurants to fill our appetite.  Don't worry, we went to this two different restaurants at different time.  Just that the location for both restaurants is around the curve.

absolute thai

As you walk into absolute thai, the first thing you find will be that old Coca Cola refrigerator.  A 10 cent sign located at the coin slot attracted my attention, so I asked the waiter if that still valid.  Of course not, in fact the fridge is empty, just for decoration.
absolute thai is owned by SEA Cuisine sdn bhd, a Singapore restaurant and hospitality company, with many branches around Klang Valey.  We picked the one at IPC Mutiara Damansara because of our love for IKEA.
One step into the restaurant, we were not filled much with thai mood, with decorations mostly not traditional thai but rather a blend of both thai and rustic items, which happen to be of my liking.   I mean, an old Coca Cola refrigerator has nothing to do with thai, I suppose.
We were given the menu in a good time since there were not so many patrons, maybe because the lunch time has passed few hours ago.

There are many varieties of choices, in the menu it shows about 60.

First we were served with plain water, and this has been clearly stated with that H2O sign on the bottle.  Stylist.
As for foods, we settled with fried rice with two variations, one served inside a cut out pineapple, while the other is served on a plate with a chicken wing.

Here come the pineapple fried rice.  It is a real pineapple lot, beyond my expectation.

appetizing?

quite simple.
Needless to say, we finished both in no time, our love for rice is obvious.  Time to pay, errr whose turn is it now?

sushi king

Not much introduction needed for sushi king, it is sprawling all over the place in Malaysia.  But than believe it or not, we never tried it.  The one nearer to our house is a bit small and always crowded with Japanese food lovers.
Ok I change my mind, I think to be fair, I also need to introduce this restaurant a little bit.  sushi king is owned by Sushi Kin sdn bhd, a Malaysian company with headquarter at Subang Jaya.
This time around, we were lucky to be accompanied by our friends, yes you have met them in this blog before. Agree ladies?

Yes, we agree, or else......

With her friends around, I was left quite far behind.  But the sushi king pull was too strong.
The location of this sushi king is the same floor as the absolute thai, so this comparison is fairer in nature.

They even have 'happy hour', but we do not really know this in advance.  We were there not during this period though.

Reasonable price.
The menu is neat, colourful, concise and easily accessible, just underneath the table.
Tricky part for this Korean cuisine fans.
Decision made, I will settle with o-bento, my wife with tempura set, Joey and Chun Hoon with varieties of ramen, toriyaki, sushi, beans, and Japanese tea.  Yes they seem to eat a lot, I agree.

Bento set.  Yummy yummy.

Can't wait ha.

In just half an hour........

Look what you did.  That stack of plates.....
Paying time.

All of them at the payment counter.  Who is paying?  Secret............... (It wasn't me). Thank you Joey and Chun Hoon.
Hmm...it is customary to judge between these two restaurants.  Its about the location, food varieties, ambient, services, decorations, etc.
We have decided the winner is
